If you want to start your day off right, try one of these Paleo diet breakfast ideas. these delicious meals will boost your healthy morning routine.

In America, a huge 45 million people go on a diet every year.
One of the most popular diets in the US is the paleo diet. In fact, it's estimated that as many as 1% of Americans are paleo.
The idea behind the diet is that people go back to basics and eat the foods which our ancestors would recognize.
Sounds silly? Think about it - do you really know what's in a lot of the food you're eating? Sure, we can read the ingredients on the back of a package, but what is Polyglycerol Polyricinoleate?
If these long names make you want to also go back to basics, paleo could be for you!
But, although it sounds simple, in a world full of High Fructose Corn Syrup and Potassium Benzoat, eating paleo takes some planning.
If you're committed to following one of America's most popular diets, we have some tips.
Thankfully, there are many great recipes available as the paleo diet has been a favorite since the mid-70s. Let's look at some delicious paleo diet breakfast ideas to get you started:
Picture
1. Classic Staple - the Blueberry MuffinEating a muffin from Starbucks means you're unlikely to know what ingredients have been thrown in. Therefore, it won't do anything to help your new paleo diet.
However, there are ways that you can keep this delicious breakfast snack on the menu. Simply make a batch of your own and you won't need to worry about what ingredients are hiding away - you'll have put them all in yourself!
The recipe for this delicious breakfast snack comes from the blog Living Healthy with Chocolate.
It involves using: almond flour, raw honey, coconut milk, baking soda, coconut oil an egg and berries! Ingredients which you could hunt and gather yourself... perhaps.
2. Keep It Smooth with Fun SmoothiesHere, you can really get creative. The fruit smoothie is a classic, healthy breakfast choice. Add in some paleo protein powder with caffeine to really pack a punch and you're good to go for your whole day.
With this breakfast, you can ensure you're getting a high amount of nutrients while also enjoying a delicious treat.
There are hundreds of great ideas for smoothies, but why not get creative and add in some avocado, kale and other veggies too?
Or, keep it simple and go for an almond butter and banana smoothie. Protein and fruit all in one to-go cup.
3. Enjoy the Smell of Eggs and Bacon in the MorningPerhaps one of the main reasons why the Paleo diet is so popular amongst Americans is the fact that it doesn't restrict your bacon and egg intake.
You may be wondering, how on Earth are bacon and eggs a healthy choice? But, in fact, your body can convert protein and fat into energy easily.
However, you need to be careful that you're buying the right bacon as not all are paleo approved. Pay attention to the processing and ingredients in the bacon and avoid high sodium choices.
Another tip which is paleo approved is to cook the bacon on a low heat. This will stop the fats from turning rancid.
4. Eat as the Italians Do - Make a Breakfast FrittataThis simple Italian dish is much like an omelet. It's very easy to cook and can be made at the weekend and heated up during the weekdays before or at work.
A frittata is a great option for those with a healthy appetite in the morning. It is packed full of veggies and eggs.
The best recipe for a Paleo frittata can be found on the Real Simple Good blog. It includes coconut milk, butter, eggs and cheese.
Then, a huge selection of vegetables which you can chop and change as you wish. Real Simple Good recommends spinach, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, olives and basil for taste.
If you're not keen on eating so much for breakfast, then why not save the frittata for lunch? It's a cheap and easy recipe to brighten up your day!
5. Don't like Eggs? Try a Baked "Oatmeal" Option InsteadFor those who aren't interested in eating eggs every single morning, another option is "oatmeal".
Of course, grains and legumes are avoided on the paleo diet. However, if it's something that you're missing, there is another (even more delicious) option.
The Paleo Running Momma blog has a great recipe which is a substitute for this breakfast staple.
Better yet, it's paleo, vegan and has no unnecessary added sugar but is still sweet. It avoids grains by using coconut flakes, nuts and dates instead.
The result looks and tastes a lot like oatmeal, will keep you going all afternoon, but doesn't ruin your diet.
6. Bake Your Own Vegan Sourdough BreadMany people claim that baking is a great way to relax and it can even help reduce anxiety. So, why not bake sourdough bread and help yourself relax after work?
There are many different types of sourdough loaves to be made. Most notably is vegan sourdough bread.
This is delicious and means you have a quick and easy breakfast option every morning. It's the perfect choice for a quick piece of toast or can be the base for a sandwich.
Once you've got the taste of sourdough bread, you'll never go back to store-bought bread.
If you find a local cafe which offers a vegan sourdough, why not ask if you could have some of their bread starter? You may be surprised by how many people are willing to share the sourdough bread love!
Paleo Diet Breakfast Ideas Don't Need to Be ComplicatedOf course, when starting any new diet, it can be overwhelming to work out what's ok to eat and what's not in the cards anymore.
But, with these paleo diet breakfast ideas, you'll quickly realize that it's not difficult to eat paleo every day. Better yet, there are many delicious options too.
However, if you feel that your energy is lagging and you need a little extra nutritional boost, why not try out a few of our favorite paleo snack bars.
