How does it work?
Crateva nurvala: The Crateva nurvala stem bark has a long history of use for urinary function and bladder sensitivity. Numerous studies of Crateva nurvala have been conducted demonstrating the utility of this botanical in maintaining healthy urinary bladder function and comfort. Extracts of Crateva nurvala bark have demonstrated ability to promote the tone of smooth muscle and skeletal muscle tissue in vitro, significantly enhanced bladder tone in animals receiving Crateva extract for 40 days.* Equisetum arvense: Equisetum arvense, also known as horsetail, is a plant especially rich in silicon and other essential minerals. In part due to its cooling and astringent properties, traditional herbalists have valued horsetail in areas of health maintenance that include kidney, bladder, and digestive function. In addition to being extremely rich in the mineral silicon, horsetail contains saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, many minerals (particularly potassium), and the phytosterols b-sitosterol, campesterol, and isofucosterol. The combination of these constituents is thought to be responsible for its beneficial properties. Partly due to its flavonoid, saponin, and mineral content, horsetail is noted as having an affinity for the urinary tract; its tonic and astringent properties has been used to promote healthy urinary bladder function and to support urinary sphincter tone.* Lindera aggregate: The root of Lindera aggregata (synonymous with Lindera strychnifolia) has a long history of use in both China and Japan that includes applications towards healthy urinary and kidney function. In contemporary research, a water extract of Lindera aggregata displayed potent scavenging activity of reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species. A study in mice illustrated how a water extract of Lindera aggregata can be used to support maintenance of normal kidney function.
